BETA Systems International (BSI) seeks an exceptional Lead Geopolitical Analyst to provide expert analysis supporting U.S. strategic planning for Alaska and the Arctic region on a multi-year federal contract.

Position Overview
This is a Key Personnel position requiring deep expertise in geopolitical analysis, Arctic affairs, and great power competition. You will serve as the primary analyst producing strategic assessments that inform federal decision-making on Arctic policy, infrastructure, and security. This role combines rigorous analytical work with direct engagement with federal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead geopolitical analysis for 7 comprehensive strategic reports annually (15-25 pages each)
  • Monitor and analyze multi-source geopolitical intelligence on Arctic region, Russia, China, and emerging security challenges
  • Participate in and prepare content for weekly strategic planning sessions with federal leadership
  • Conduct data-driven assessments of partnerships with Arctic nations and Indigenous communities
  • Translate complex geopolitical trends into actionable recommendations aligned with federal Arctic strategy
  • Ensure analytical rigor, reproducible methods, and proper sourcing/attribution
  • Develop traceability matrices linking recommendations to policy objectives
  • Coordinate with subject matter experts on infrastructure, energy, technology, and Indigenous affairs
  • Monitor subscription-based geopolitical intelligence services and synthesize insights
  • Brief federal stakeholders on findings and recommendations
Required Qualifications
  • Master's degree required (PhD strongly preferred) in International Relations, Political Science, Strategic Studies, Geopolitics, or related field
  • 8+ years of professional experience in geopolitical analysis, strategic intelligence, or policy analysis
  • Strong understanding of great power competition, particularly U.S.-Russia-China dynamics
  • Experience producing written analytical products for executive-level audiences
  • Proficiency with geopolitical intelligence platforms and open-source intelligence (OSINT) tools
  • Excellent research, analytical, and critical thinking skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
Highly Desired Qualifications
  • Active security clearance (Secret or above)
  • Experience supporting federal government agencies
  • Demonstrated expertise in Arctic affairs, including knowledge of Arctic governance, regional issues, and circumpolar dynamics
  • Knowledge of Alaska's strategic location, infrastructure challenges, and Indigenous communities
  • Understanding of climate change impacts on Arctic security and infrastructure
  • Experience with federal policy development and implementation processes
  • Familiarity with defense planning or strategic studies
  • Language skills (Russian, Mandarin, or Indigenous languages)
  • Published research or analysis on Arctic issues
  • Experience with data visualization and geospatial analysis tools

This position directly supports federal strategic planning for Alaska and the Arctic region. Your analysis will contribute to decisions on infrastructure investment, international partnerships, preparedness planning, and Indigenous community support in America's Arctic territories during a critical period for the region.
